United promises they won’t be a ‘walk on the park’ as they open their 2023/24 season against Downs’

THE long awaited 2023/24 DStv Premier Soccer League kicks-off this week.

League winners Mamelodi Sundowns’ open their account against Limpopo side Sekhukhune United at Peter Mokaba Stadium, on Friday evening.

Brazilians will seek to defend their premier league championship for the seventh time in a row- following their Netherland training camp recently, a sign of determination.

Despite the departure of assistant coach Steve Komphela to Swallows, the team has bolstered the squad with new international and local faces.

Babina Noko’– as United are known- finished in a respectable position last season, and would not want to disappoint their fans since this is a home game.

The side has signed defender Jamie Webber from SuperSport United, goalkeeper Renaldo Leaner from Maritzburg United and former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Siphesihle Mkhize.

Its going to be a tough game for both clubs; as they want to begin the season on a right footing.
