Leading the pack. Pres JG Zuma will give a keynote address at the Freedom Day celebrations on April 27 in Limpopo, expected to draw large crowds that will also be used as a drive to campaign for the Municipal Elections.

It is significant because it marks the end of over three hundred years of colonialism, segregation and white minority rule and the establishment of a new democratic government led by Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela and a new state subject to a new constitution.

As part of celebrating this all important day in the history of our democracy, President Jacob Zuma will on Wednesday, 27 April 2016, lead Freedom Day national celebrations in Giyani, Limpopo Province, under the theme “Together Building Better Communities – Local Government is Everybody’s business”.

“We call on all South Africans to mark this important day on which the nation triumphed over racism and subjugation. On this day we will be promoting unity and working together to build a non-racial, non-sexist, democratic and prosperous South Africa,” says President Zuma

All tripartite alliance partners of the ruling party will attend.
