2013 Afcon volunteers needed!

The Local Organising Committee for the Tournament, which starts on 19 January till 10 February 2013, has put together an ambitious programme of action that will ensure that South Africa delivers, on behalf of the Confederation of African Football and the LOC Board, a compelling competition that will rise Africa to it’s feet.

For the Orange Africa Cup of Nations South Africa 2013, and indeed the African Nations Championship in 2014, to truly be a success, the backing of the people of South Africa and the entire African continent, is important.

The volunteers, who will be the public face of the tournament, will play a vital role in all aspects of the Orange Africa Cup of Nations South Africa 2013; and will be assisting numerous departments such as accreditation, marketing, media and transport.

The LOC volunteers will be providing a service to the official CAF/LOC events and tournaments focusing on the CAF Family, official venues of the tournament, sponsors, CAF and LOC Headquarters, Protocol and other official designated areas of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations Organisation Committee.

Apart from being part of Africa’s leading football tournament and working in an exciting, comfortable and fun environment, the LOC will provide the volunteers with the following:

An Official Orange Africa Cup of Nations South Africa 2013 uniform, provided by Adidas;

Specific training, that is intended to prepare them to carry out their roles and responsibilities;

Meals and refreshments when on duty;

A certificate of appreciation or acknowledgement for their participation in the official events of the Orange Africa Cup of Nations South Africa 2013;

A limited liability insurance whilst on duty;

A stipend amount of R200.00 for everyday that they are on duty, payable after the tournament ending 10 February 2013;

The Volunteers programme is open to applicants who satisfy the following requirements:

 Be 18 years of age or older, by or before 10 October 2012;

 Be able to speak and understand English (fluency in Arabic and French will be an added advantage);
