Female bender Joe Thomas headlines this years’ D&D in Kimberley

THE LEADING act at the Diamonds & Dorings 18th edition Joseph Lewis Thomas (better known to us as Joe Thomas) is expected to jet in South Africa in time for his much awaited press brief to be held in Johannesburg, before making his way to the ‘Diamond City’ or ‘Big Hole’ as Kimberley is referred to by locals.

Female bender and crooner Joe Thomas is a draw card at this years’ D&D 2018, scheduled for April 1, Langleg Resort Kimberley.

Having made a U-turn on featuring international acts on their line-up, the organisers upped the ante by obtaining a signature of a female bender Joe to serenade thousands of revelers expected at the show on Sunday April 1 2018 at Langleg Resort.

The I Wanna Know’ and ‘Stutter’ star, shares the stage with SA exponents Amanda Black, Zonke, Ringo, Lebo Sekgobela, Major League, Samthin’ Soweto and Dineo.

THE D&D packed entertainment programme also consist of a comedy show, a marathon, a gospel show, and a music and food show, culminating in the main music event on the last day.

The comedy show on Thursday (March 29) opens with the likes of Jason Goliath, Petronela, Celeste Ntuli, Mpho Pops and African Queen at the Mittah Seperepere Convention Centre.

Gospel sensation Lebo Sekgobela and Dr Tumi, alongside local acts take over Friday (Good Friday -Freitaga wa tidimalo) during the Gopspel show at the Convention Center.

On Saturday AKA, Kabelo “Bugga Love” and Monique Bingham will bring down the masses at AR Abass Stadium.

D&D seeks to conscientious travelers into the region as part of tourism regeneration and that SMMEs benefit greatly –be it directly or indirectly, especially in this tough economic conditions- from the fest- amongst others.

The sleepy Kimberley has been experiencing water shortage but that should not deter visitors to the fest as contingency plans have been put into place by the Sol Plaatjie Municipality.
