Football legends honoured

FNB Stadium Home to the Jabulani Bafana Collection 2010 will host the poster in the front of the Hisense Vision Club hospitality area of the stadium. 

The posters were created under the auspices of the South African Football

Museum and the Bailey African History Archives (Drum Magazine) supported by the Gauteng Department of Sport Arts Recreation & Culture for show at the Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown, during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Soccer City has become the world’s favourite tourism destination for visitors alike, having hosted the FIFA World Cup in 2010 and other major concerts to date.

 

The posters document 20 iconic soccer moments in our country’s history, and there are 14 story lines which are told by the posters, namely:

Darius Dhlomo

Steve “Kalamazoo” Mokone

Muti Magic

Vleis Matlotlane

Ladies Football

Elkiam “Pro” Khumalo

Cops and Rioters

Percy ”Chippa” Moloi

Carlos Parreira

Kaizer “Chincha Guluva” Motaung

Patrick Ace “Mabega Phantshi” Ntsoelengoe, and

The Sono Story
