International award winning Siba unveils new series that will put Jozi on the food radar

Yes, its mzansis own signature Chef Siba Mtongana, who has unveiled her latest series offering ‘Siba’s Adventures Johannesburg’ at the sought-after restaurant The Marble in Rosebank.

Joburg, it is your time, she said shyly.

“My new series is something a little different to what my avid viewers are used to. I am usually exploring the streets of Cape Town finding inspiration and bringing it back to my own kitchen. This series, I take to the streets of Joburg, to see what’s hot and trendy in the food scene in my neighbouring city,” she says.

Why Jozi and what influenced the decision to shoot in SA’s economic hub, the bubbly Siba as always, indicated the followers kept asking why not Jozi, so did the producers of the show who were interested on what she would be cooking up the storm, amongst others.

“A lot of research was put into this new series to capture the young market”, she said.

Siba also indicated it was expensive to shoot travel shows as a result of huge budget and expenses incurred hence the gratitude to the producers of the show, whom she has worked with for more than four-years.

“As indicated let’s see what Joburg has in-store for our viewers.”

The new show sees Siba head to one of her favourite cities, to uncover the tastiest bits of South Africa’s City of Gold. A place that’s reinvented itself almost overnight, with tons of trendy coffee shops, quirky restaurants, markets and food trucks serving the latest mouth-watering bites.

Jozi is now on trend and the place to be seen and eat, she was quoted, in the company of hubby Brian Mtongana, who is related to an eNCA reporter.

Discovery Channel, the producers of the new series confirmed it will air from April 25 at 7pm Food Network( Dstv 175).
