The 2014 Miss Soweto Lungile Buhale, will hand over the reigns to the newly crowned Miss Soweto 2015, this weekend.
After months of rehearsals and arduous task of choosing the final twelve, the spotlight will be on the chosen one, on Saturday December 5 at Soweto Theatre, from 7pm.
Buhale a law and archeology student at Wits University will shift the responsibilities to the new Miss Soweto.
Although a fact but to some a tired cliché, it has produced well known brands in the form of Basetsana Khumalo, Augustine Masilela and Doris Msibi, amongst others.
The success of these remarkable South African (Soweto)women in the years following their crowning bears testimony to the calibre and potential of the pageant.
“White Star is and has been a proud sponsor of Miss Soweto for the past six years, taking girls from the true heart of South Africa, and grooming female leaders of tomorrow,” says White Star Marketing Manager Mokhele Makhothi.
“The Miss Soweto pageant is a historic event in Soweto; it belongs to the community. White Star is playing its part in making this pageant one of South Africa’s best-loved cultural events and the community should join in support”.
Crooner Donald and other performing groups will keep fans, families and friends (not forgetting hangers-on) a momentous evening.
Tickets are available for R200 at the door or at www.sowetotheatre.com<http://www.sowetotheatre.com> or by phoning 0861 670 670.
