The Miss Soweto Pageant has become an institution since its inception in 1979 for Sowetans. Now that’s a rich history!
To date, almost three dozen beauty queens have held this prestigious title and have gone on to make their mark in the world including Kumalo (then Makgalemele) and Miss Universe semi-finalist Augustine Masilela-Chuene.
Current Miss Soweto Makhanani Chabalala from Chiawelo, will hand over the reign on December 6.
It is sponsored by White Star, to the value of R30 000.
Entrance fee to the audition is R200.
