ThomART gallery open to the public

Thomas Ngulube, owner of the ThomArt gallery is one of South Africa’s sought-after artist and sculptor who ably hosted the evening with friends who themselves are art lovers.

Thomas, who is often abroad than in his country, produces work ranging from metal and stone sculpture to oil paintings and printmaking.

The latter has exhibited sculptures, paintings and prints at venues across Gauteng during his career and he’s decided to spoil himself by having all his art work under one roof.

Rami Chuene, actress of note, came to support the evening by virtue of auctioning the ANC Wine Centenary alongside fellow artists Mbongeni Buthelezi and John Vusi Mfupi.

They are 3 of the 9 artists that contributed their painting to be used as wine labels for the wines that will be auctioned throughout 2012.

One of notable sculptors to be seen at ThomArts is called “Adam & Eve”. It’s a full portrait of Adam’s hand taking the apple from Eve.

Art Director from the Johannesburg Gallery, Ms Murdoch who graced the event also heaped praise on the artists for their contribution to the SA Art Gallery.
