THE FIGHT over who will control the mega City of Joburg's hefty budget continues.
This follows the vote of no confidence on Mayor Herman Mashaba to be tabled today by the councillors and supporters of the ruling party ANC, at the council chambers in Braamfontein.
Both the ANC and DA are at loggerheads over allegations of the city’s messed up finances, hence the motion of no confidence, whom Mashaba has survived twice.
But the ANC will have to play second fiddle to Economic Freedom Fighter’s who in the past were in bed with DA but the relationship has gone up the smoke.
The move has increased the chances of the ANC efforts to remove Mashaba. However, it remains to be seen if the EFF will allow its rival an easy victory in the country’s economic capital.
Mashaba has accused the ANC painfully pointing out it that it wants to gets its dirty hands in the control of the City’s budget and corrupt it to the core.
EFF has in the past indicated it will not work with the ANC accusing it of underhanded tactics, amongst others.
At the time of publishing the sitting was still in progress.
