Also skating on thin ice is the entire board that will face the music on Wednesday, in Parliament, to answer on the status at troubled towers.
To compound matters, the Sunday Sun also reported the resignation of head of radio Lesley Ntloko, for it is alleged did not see eye to eye with Motsoeneng, former Lesedi FM boss.
Ntloko is considered by many as an intelligent figure and was always a threat to his former boss.
All this, are happening under the watchful-eye of Motsoeneng and after the ANC NEC meeting over the weekend, they can’t stomach it anymore.
“The NEC extensively discussed the challenges at a number of state-owned entities are facing. On South African Broadcasting Cooperation‚ the NEC called on the board of the corporation to review the decision to appoint Mr Hlaudi Motsoeneng as group executive of corporate affairs‚” said ANC secretary general Gwede Mantashe.
“The NEC agreed on the need for the parliamentary inquiry into both fitness to hold office‚” said Mantashe.
The Democratic Alliance marched to the SABC to hand over a memorandum of demands calling for the removal of Motsoeneng and the disbandment of the broadcasters entire board, and also gave the board two days to comply with their demands.
As things stand, the entire should be fired.
