Bafana are in camp as stand-in coach Owen da Gama prepares the team to host Guinea-Bissau at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, before they take on Angola at Buffalo City Park next Tuesday.
Da Gama was handed the reins following the sacking of Shakes Mashaba three months ago and the failure to secure a permanent replacement prior to this month’s fixtures.
SAFA’s head of communications Dominic Chimhavi says a deal has been finalised with the new coach but an announcement will only be made next week, so as to not overshadow the current national team activities.
“We were supposed to announce the coach this week but we have decided to postpone it until next week, after the Angola game, so that it does not overshadow the upcoming games,” Chimhavi said.
“Everything is finalised and we’ve already sealed the deal [with the coach]. We are just waiting to announce his name.”
