Investments and risks pay dividends for Wits’ glory

The head-coach at Bidvest Wits and team were crowned the 2016/17 Absa Premiership title winners.

Hunt, becomes the only coach to win four PSL silverware with different teams.

As for ‘Students’ this is history for the team established in 1921.
Hunt joined Wits from SuperSport United and upon arrival build a team of winners, instilled discipline and taught players the importance of ownership.

That took years and hard work to reap maximum rewards.

It was always going to be interesting who would clinch the title as former PSL winners Downs’, SuperSport and Cape Town City, were eyeing the league honours.

With Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs finishing poorly in position five and Orlando Pirates, out of top eight-so embarrassing- Wits did the unthinkable.

High fives to the management, fans -though paltry- players and technical team for a superb season.

Bidvest boss Brian Joffe, took a risk as a business man and now he’s smiling all the way (not to the bank though, he’s got enough money) but to the Stock Exchange, that’s if he decides to list the club on the market (wishful thinking).

The club’s CEO, Jose Ferreira, has revealed that the prize money will be shared among the team.

Job well done Students!
