Will it be Khosi or Bucs?

Let Peace reign. Chiefs’ skipper “Shabba” and one of the respectful players I ‘ve met, will have to carry the hopes of the youngsters as they face Bucs on Saturday for Soweto derby at FNB Stadium.

For Kaizer Chiefs the win was a booster ahead of the Soweto derby following a string of poor showing on the field and lackluster performance were it matters most.

Yes, admittedly it’s a relief for coach Steve Komphela who has been under strenuous pressure. It made sense for him to win ahead of this all important clash against Orlando Pirates.

The Glamour Boys coach took a gamble by introducing the unknown and they punished Downs’, one going as far scoring his first opener for him and the team.

Injuries at the Naturena side is like a nursing ward at Chris Hani-Baragwaneth Hospital.

But key members such as Siphiwe “Shabba” Tshabalala (will reach his milestone as he plays his 30th consecutive derby) and brilliant scorer against Downs’ Bernard Parker have led by example and their experience is brushing off to the youngsters. Amen…

“Mijo’– Bucs coach has brought a bit of stability and discipline into the team and thus far, has not lost a game ahead of derby.

Players’ are now playing with purpose and the likes Thabo’s -Qalinge and skipper Matlaba are showing signs of hunger Bucs players are known for.

Thamsanqa “GandaGanda” Gabuza is also showing that much needed bite in the eighteenth area and should he feature in the first starting line-up, he could pose a headache to out of sort Eric Mathoho and SA fav goalminder Itu Khune.

Bucs hopeful and skipper Thabo Matlaba will have to lead from the back on Saturday.

But that’s my prediction whereas both Komphela and ‘Mijo’ will have other ideas on the day to conjure up.

It is said both teams’ are psychologically hyped when coming to derby but the question is, will this be another dull draw-we wait?

It kicks off from 3pm.
