“The concept to create a new annual fixture is not only an exciting idea, it also offers soccer fans another opportunity to see the best talent in South Africa on the FNB Stadium pitch, battling for the bragging rights to lift this trophy.”

The Shell Helix Cup is a three-year deal.

“As Shell Downstream SA we are thrilled to bring a fresh and exciting new event to South African soccer fans. Just as Shell understands South Africans’ passion for driving, we also understand their passion for great soccer.

We are proud to provide a platform through the Shell Helix Ultra Cup, which brings a new prestigious fixture to the annual soccer calendar,” said Anton Niemann, GM Shell Downstream SA Lubricants.

The Shell brand is usually associated with F1 and having entered the football arena in SA, means a new dawn as it becomes innovative in their marketing strategy.

Ashraff Paruk, managing executive- Vodacom says:“South Africans want access to global and local events and Vodacom is committed to making content accessible to everyone.

As part of Vodacom’s 2020 vision, we aim to build a digitally connected society and enhance the lives of our customers through an always-on digital experience in work, life and play,” he said.
