This was confirmed by the board at SA Express.
Mzimela’s appointment although in the acting capacity, was supported by the minister of Public Enterprises Pravin Gordhan, whom many believe will bring in changes at the troubled SA Express.
She has more than 20 years’ in the aviation industry.
The ministry of public enterprises and the board of SA Express said Mzimela had been part of the ministerial intervention team that was appointed in May to stabilise the airline’s operations‚ its finances‚ and to identify options to recapitalise the airline given its immediate short-term liquidity problems.
She’s also the founder and CEO of Fly Blue Crane.
Mzimela replaces former CEO Matsietsi Mokholo who has been appointed to the Presidency’s Office.
