The march will be led by Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane and MEC for Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation Lebogang Maile.
Mlangeni and Kathrada will, on behalf of the Mandela Generation, accept a pledge of commitment signed by the current Representative Council of Learners (RCL) at the end of the march at Orlando.
This is to express gratitude for the efforts of the past generation in the fight for liberation and to commit to building a brighter future for South Africa.
The march will start at 10H00 while celebrations at Mofolo Park are to begin at 14H00.
The theme for this year’s commemoration is “Embracing the Vision of the 1976 Youth together contributing towards a United and Prosperous South Africa”.
