The fundamental objective is to help emerging entrepreneurs to register their enterprises and formalise them in order to solicit or procure services from Government by being compliant.
This could be in the form of ascertaining business registration, valid tax clearance, proof of business account, etc.
By so doing anyone, particularly youth organisations would be able to receive trainings, developmental programmes and opportunities to solicit business from Gauteng Government.
“Our is to aid our youth’s in registering and being compliant to be able to work with us,” says Nkomo-Ralehoko during interview at Cosmo City Multi-Purpose Center on Thursday.
“Such opportunities be it ICT and others, will stand them in good stead if they only go for training and understand the opportunities available within this growing sector. A lot is happening and evolution is taking place and our youngsters should go for such opportunities. It is for everyone not only for the select few, as it is made to be understood,” she said.
The department has partnered with global companies such as Huawei, to provide training at universities and TVT colleges on ICT and eWaste program, that would help to create jobs at the end of the program.
Training will be for free, according to the MEC, who labelled it a “generation of thumbs”.
Companies will also absorb some of the learners into their organisations after the successful completion, she said.
The outreach program will visit Soweto, Bronkhorspruit, Thokoza, Vaal, Westrand, Pretoria and other regions in the Gauteng province.
She also encouraged future entrepreneurs to bring along their certified copy, CIPC business registration certificate, valid tax clearance and proof business to register for registration.
The MEC also pointed out that as a result of e-invoicing most of the companies are now paid within 15 days instead of 30, as per Gvt regulations.
“The only time it takes for 30 days for payment is only when your e-invoice is incomplete.”
So, its important they understand this new system, says Nkomo-Ralehoko, one of the most experienced members of the Gauteng legislature with almost 20 years under her belt.
