SOUTH AFRICAN rapper and songwriter, Costa Titch and Alfa Van Kat are synonymous with the brand Converse.
The two rappers performed at the packed Cotton Fest recently (founded by the late musician Riky Rick) held in Jozi.
When Titch and his international surprise act Akon performed Big Flexa, at the show the crowd went crazy and the rapper has officially announced there’s a remix dropping.
Dripped in Converse outfits both gave a resounding performances, and Titch belting out his popular hits ‘Nkalakatha’ and ‘Activate’ much to fans excitement- No matter your style, Converse has you covered as the marketing gimmick goes!
Unveiled as brand ambassador for Converse, Titch was quoted as having said: “We wanted to change the set design with the snow theme, brought to life with the lighting, styling and visuals. This was done to create an international experience and a world class show.”
Taking to his Instagram timeline he also announced there’s a partnership brewing between their record labels- since Akon presented him with a diamond chain.
In support of local culture and creatives, this generation of artists, rappers, singers, photographers and creatives as a whole, is being spearheaded by the create next movement by Converse in support of their endeavors and journeys.
Alfa Van Kat celebrated for his Piano Piano track, and Titch are ‘cats’ to look out for as they bring-out swagger (fashion) and versatility on stage- thanks to Converse All Star sneakers brand usually associated with loxion culture for some donkey years’ ago.
A myth is, or was, the brand is regarded as ‘tsotsi attire’ or associated with thugs but such ill-founded notions have been dispelled with the contempt it deserves.
Now the company that also produces top brands Nike, has gone full-throttle by releasing more designs linked with cool and adaptability, everywhere globally.
