Adidas, Juve reveal new jersey for troubled Serie A club

SERIE A outfit Juventus reveals new jersey for new season.

In partnership with technical sponsor Adidas the club announced home kit for the 23/24 football season.

For the public the new jersey is available for purchase from adidas.com, the Juventus club and online at adidas Juventus kits since May 12.

Created for the club’s new generation of supporters, the jersey evolves the kit’s iconic design with an unexpected graphic and bold technologies – all while remaining true to the distinctive DNA of Juventus.

Hero to the shirt’s design is a celebration of the unmistakable Juventus black and white stripes – that instantly evoke a sense of pride and unity between player and fans.

The pattern, which since 1903 has been a visual shorthand for the club, is recoded this season from the previous triangular pattern and retold through the brushed stroke finish that replicates the unique patterning of a zebra.

For Juventus fans, the shirt updates the club’s distinctive design heritage with a brushed zebra-style graphic – edged with bold yellow accents.

Off the pitch the club has been marred by controversy.

It received a 10-point deduction after the Italian club were once again found guilty again by the Italian FA appeals court (Corte d’Appello) for rules violations.

The new decision is an expected consequence after last month’s decision from the Italian Olympic Committee, Collegio di Garanzia, the highest sporting court in Italy, when it overturned the punishment for financial rules violations from the Italian FA (FIGC), a punishment originally announced back in January, when Juventus were given a 15-point deduction in the standings.

The team is currently 7th on the log but could improve depending how they fare in their remaining games.

The Italian FA prosecutors are accusing Juventus of mishandling and manipulating transfer finances, the so called “plusvalenze.”

In simple terms, football accountants take a different approach to registering transfers in and out. If a player is sold for €20 million to another club then the vendor will simply add that sum to their accounts.

However, if they were then to take that €20m and sign another player on a five-year contract then their books would record a €4m fee for each of the five years.

This is standard practice across the industry but it is open to manipulation, particularly in the case of swap deals between two clubs.

With the new deduction their qualification to the Champions League is now seriously in doubt.
