Close to 4046 items of stationery and uniforms were handed over by the Southgate Mall, at a ceremony held at the house.
Shoppers were encouraged to donate new or used uniforms, backpacks, books and other stationery to assist the learners who could not afford the necessary items, in the form a competition on January 16 2015.
“The love that you have shown makes us truly and honestly delighted, thank you for thinking of Orlando Children’s Home and for each and every person who has been part of this,” says Mirriam Mazibuko, director of the Orlando Children’s Home.
“This drive promoted the spirit of helping and giving amongst our children, while giving them confidence, which will impact our children’s academic performance throughout the entire year.”
As part of its social community drive the SouthGate Mall, will launch Maths Learning Center- NuMiracle in April this year, to help learners with Maths and Science.
