Today, Orlando Pirates finally succumbed to pressure and issued a media statement stating the player is hard at training with the team.
“Orlando Pirates Football Club would like to clarify on the recent reports surrounding the future of Kermit Erasmus.
Over the last couple of days it has been reported on various media outlets that the Club has accepted an offer from Egyptian Premier League side Zamalek SC for the services of Mr Erasmus.
Orlando Pirates Football Club would like to put it on record that there has been no official communication between the Club and Zamalek about the services of Mr Erasmus.
Mr Erasmus is currently in camp undergoing pre-season training with the rest of the squad in Nelspruit,” read the statement.
Both Dr Irvin Khoza and Floyd Mbhele have refuted claims that talks did take place.
Erasmus agent Rob Moore, has admitted no official or ‘lawful’ approach was made for his player.
But it is said, there’s no smoke without fire!
