Yes, this is Lisa Good born Sandisiwe Lisa Sontonga.
The 25 year old, was part of the Coast to Coast Live showcase (called the ‘world’s largest artist showcase in the world’) in New York (The Big Apple), last week.
There, she was judged by celebrated music icons from Mary J. Blije, LL Cool J, Cam’ron and Coptic Notorious BIG/P Diddy.
The pop/electronica/R&B artist whose music video of ‘Happy World (Haybo)’ is making international headlines in cities such as United Kingdom, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Nigeria and Namibia, was the toast of town as judges felt she had the talent.
For her work she came out third during adjudicating.
The performer who started singing at only six, and was a leader singer of her choir at only 8-years of age, believes South Africa should be her next destination in terms of popularizing the song.
“This was an opportunity I couldn’t miss,” she says about her entering the contest.
“I just took the chance of entering my song for Coast2Coast because I know how big they are in the USA and they help boost artist’s careers to a higher level in the music industry.”
“Honestly I didn’t think I’d get chosen because they are more into hip-hop than the music I make, so imagine my surprise when I got a call from them telling me I’m selected and they are loving my music,” says Good Born who juggles a lot of dancing, fun and high energy in her act.
“I want to make my mark in the industry, and this news was just crazy.”
She is signed under Xhntsa Entertainment, who are organizing a welcome back party at OR Tambo International tonight for her.
With all the adulation’s clearly, this young beau could be clinching a deal with any of the above mentioned stars.
At time of publishing it was unconfirmed if she’s related to music giant Enoch Sontonga, the composer of our national anthem.
