A youth football tournament secures Trellidor as a title sponsor

TRELLIDOR has been announced as the proud title sponsor of the Trellidor Mzansi Super Cup, a premier youth football tournament designed to provide young players with meaningful competitive opportunities while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship and community engagement.

Taking place from 9 to 11 July 2026 at Lowveld High School in Mbombela, the tournament will bring together some of the country’s most promising young footballers in the U13 and U15 age categories, with teams expected from across South Africa and beyond.

Organised by Siyadlala Sports Management, the tournament is expected to attract approximately 1,500 attendees, including 32 teams, 640 players and hundreds of supporters.

This event marks the third provincial youth football tournament supported by Trellidor as part of its growing commitment to grassroots football development and the partnership with the Siyabonga Bhele Nomvethe Foundation.

Previous initiatives included two successful iKas’La Makasi High School Tournaments in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal, which created opportunities for more than 20 schools and hundreds of young players.

The Trellidor Mzansi Super Cup is open to players born in 2013 (U13) and 2011 (U15).

The U13 division will be played in a 9-a-side format, while the U15 competition will follow the traditional 11-a-side format.

Beyond competition, the tournament aims to create a platform for talent identification, personal development and positive social interaction through sport.

Adding to the excitement is a unique prize package for the champions of each age division.

Winning teams will receive an all-expenses-paid football experience, including the opportunity to play against both Mamelodi Sundowns FC Academy and the Africa Football School of Excellence in separate fixtures hosted in Johannesburg and Pretoria.

In addition, the top three teams in each division will receive soccer kits, trophies and medals.

According to Damian Judge, Sales & Marketing Executive at Trellidor, the sponsorship reflects the company’s commitment to creating safer, stronger and more empowered communities.

“At Trellidor, we believe in investing in opportunities that help young people realise their potential.

Football teaches discipline, resilience, teamwork and leadership, qualities that extend far beyond the field of play. The Trellidor Mzansi Super Cup aligns perfectly with our values, and we are proud to support a tournament that creates meaningful opportunities for young athletes to showcase their talent and pursue their dreams.”

Tournament organiser Bongani Tshabalala said the event was created to provide aspiring footballers with a platform to compete, grow and gain exposure.

“The Trellidor Mzansi Super Cup is about much more than winning matches. It is about discovering future stars, creating memorable experiences and bringing communities together through sport. We are delighted to welcome Trellidor as our title sponsor and look forward to delivering an exciting tournament that inspires young players and celebrates youth development.”
