And Joburg MMC for Environment and Infrastructure Services Department (EISD) Mpho Moerane, is Gatvol, and action will be unveiled to stop illegal occupiers who have turned the Pikitup Panorama Compost Site and Garden Site into a hub of lawlessness.
MMC Moerane this week visited the compost site to check the state of vandalism, which has become a problem for the residents of Ward 126. He noted the severe state of vandalism at the compost site, which was closed after a fire incident that took place in October last year.
He has ordered Pikitup management,SAPS, JMPD and Home Affairs to make plans to ensure that the site is cleaned and the illegal occupiers be removed with immediate effect.

“Talks with wastepickers unions, Home Affairs and the JMPD Bylaw enforcement Unit will assist in getting the issues resolved,” said the statement from the Office of MMC.
MMC Moerane also urged Allen’s Nek residents to drop off garden waste at the site before 4pm, and to refrain from illegal dumping near the garden and compost site.
He also requested residents in the area to become more active citizens by taking pictures and reporting those who are dumping illegally to the JMPD Bylaw Enforcement Unit.
Residents can report any illegal activities, including illegal dumping, on the JMPD Bylaw Enforcement Unit number: 082 779 1316.
Complaints can also be sent to the number on WhatsApp, including pictures.
Alternatively, residents can call the JMPD on (011) 375-5911.
