Amateki will burn at the RedSquare Dance finale!

Red Devils
Vying for the big prize. Red Devils from JHB Central are finalists in the 2015 RedSquare Dance Competition on Saturday.

Now the battle-lines are drawn, as the grand finale goes down this Saturday in Pretoria at Marafco Lounge.

At the launch this year, the organisers invited groups or individuals -of all races countrywide- who would dazzle the judges and audience alike,  as they poured their hearts –out to win the ultimate and a whooping R50 000 first prize on offer.

The rules of the competition strongly recommended that various dance styles including hip-hop, sbunjwa and isipantsula, should be infused in the dance. And they turned it up!

The only female group from Atteridgeville-Pta (AYP Divas) seems not to be intimidated at all, by an all male groups, considering were they are. With Women’s Celebrations next Month, this augurs well for them and who knows they might bag the first prize, or kanjani?

They will strut out against C-Unit, Cunvas Crew,Titanic Boyz, Soulistic Fusion, Precision, Red Devils, Team Series, Savivor and M.O.J.

The runner up will pocket R10 000 and third place takes away R5 000, respectively.

Says RedSquare Marketing manager, Victor Selaelo: “Throughout the audition stage we came across amazing, original and authentic dance groups and individuals who are first prize winning kind of talent. But the standards were too high and competition was tight.

We are absolutely positive about the artistic talent that this country has and believe we have made positive investment in this dance competition”.

Plans are afoot to gradually built-up and spread the competition nationally, according to Selaelo.

Come and witness ‘a ya chisa amateki’ as the stage cracks and psychedelic lights dim!

It begins from 4pm.

Be there or be SQUARED…
