Anthony Hamilton headed to SA once again

The tour aptly coined ‘Back to Love SA Tour’, is scheduled for to take place in Johannesburg, Cape Town, East London, and Durban, respectively.

Although his credentials do not feature winning major awards, Anthony has nevertheless won the hearts of both local and international standings.

His latest hit and chart topper ‘Pray for Me’ and ‘Woo’ are what the South Africans should expect as he enters the stage in Jozi on August 16 at Standard Bank Arena next to Ellis Park Arena.

An album such as ‘Coming From Where I’m From’ released in 2003 was well received, which featured ‘Charlene’.  Others, such as ‘Ain’t Nobody Worryin’, ‘Can’t let Go’, ‘The Point of it All’ and ‘Her Heart’ proved Hamilton is a definite crooner who loves his large family.

“Having children,” says the father of six, including twins, “gives you another burst of energy, a new perspective.”

‘Back to Love’, is definitely clear, crafting a broader, more energetic sound without compromising his soul-drenched vocals, engaging melodies and lyrical imagery. He has worked with longtime producer and ‘So in Love’ collaborator Kelvin Wooten, Salaam Remi, Jerry Wonda and, for the first time, industry legend Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, who penned the lyrically acclaimed ‘Pray for Me’.

Anthony best describes as “firecrackers and life-reflecting songs” pieces such as ‘Back to Love’ which has OutKast-influenced Sucka For You’ and ‘Best of Me’ both invigorating examples of the singer’s rejuvenation.

Naturally, he embraces on ‘Never Let Go’, a collab with singer/songwriter Kerry Hilson and ‘Life Has a Way’, originally written for the movie “Pursuit of Happyness.”

It makes sense in that ‘Back to Love’ his fourth album has been identified as a tag for his imminent SA tour.

Since the ‘Pray for Me’ lyrics are so popular in SA, according to the promoters Afropulse Entertainment, they expect full houses at all shows.

Last year, the company brought KEM who enthralled the fans, and a talk is he might return.

Confirmed dates: Cape Town ICC on the 17th of August, East London Buffalo Park on the 18th of August and Peoples Park in Durban on the 19th of August.
