BMW Brotherhood initiative seeks to restore dignity ekasie

The BMW Brotherhood was founded in July 2020 by a group of six young brilliant minded professionals and amongst them is 947 and Sabc 1 Youth Talk show host, MC, Dancer and social entrepreneur Melody Miya, who has been vocal about impacting lives and to date have won over the hearts of over 1 000 children from Sebokeng, Tembisa, Diepsloot and most recently Nomzamo Park, Soweto.

“The dream to become has been very important but the desire to help others with what we have achieved in our careers was far greater and this is why we believe in using our influence to help the next generation build their legacies”, said Miya.

The Brotherhood has, since inception, grown from a six-man operation to encompass almost 30 young men from all different professions.

According to Miya, there is a desire for young professionals to give back, but most of them don’t know where to go and what to do, and organisations like the Brotherhood helps in bringing like-minded people together – giving them an opportunity to give back, while networking at the same time.

COVID-19 has made poverty worse in South Africa. With over 500,000 cumulative cases as of August 13, 2020. There is no doubt that the pandemic has exacerbated many of the underlying issues surrounding poverty in the country.

“That’s why we call upon all BMW drivers to join the movement and be part of the Brotherhood and help us give back – I know we won’t change the world, but we can surely help some families put food on the table this winter”, concludes Miya.
