DA loses plot with the burning of SA flag TV advert

BURNING of any national flag is tantamount to treason. And in other country’s you get arrested.

So, DA’s leader John Steenhuisen should face the might of the law and his cronies.

This follows a TV advert showing the South African flag burning.

As indicated in previous reports, with national elections on May 29 nearing, such behaviour and political smearing is gonna be an order of the day.

And fellow mzansi are not buying into such cowardice act by DA. They’re losing the plot…

The advert, shows SA flag burnt to ashes with a background voice narrating how the DA would save the country from the fire.

The voice continues to bash the African National Congress (ANC), the “violent” Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), and the Jacob Zuma faction, saying: “Under this coalition of corruption, life will only get worse”.

At the launch over the weekend Steenhuisen said the burning of the flag can be stopped only if his party was put to power.

“We can stop our flag from burning entirely, and reweave its threads to represent the consolidated dream of a united and prosperous country that we all share,” he said.

According to the DA, the advert showed how the country was slowly being destroyed while people were watching.

First to react was former Public Protector Thuli Madonsela who said: “The burning of our flag is ill-advised. Seems to show disrespect and disloyalty to the flag, which to many of us is more than a flag but a symbol of triumph against apartheid, In some countries it’s even a crime to burn the flag,” she pointed out at Thuli Madonsela @ThuliMadonsela3.

Thebe Ikalafeng, brand guru also lamented DA and said should pay for disrespecting ‘our national flag’, citing this is a ‘total disregard for democracy fought for years’.

For some of DA followers this might look ‘cool’ but come election date this could prove deadly.

Whatever, Steenhuisen is trying to stir will taste sourish in his mouth…
