Dakota Legoete is the new ANC North-West provincial secretary!

He beat the acting provincial secretary chairperson Gordon Kegakilwe, who will now return to his permanent post of secretary general in full capacity.

Legoete, is Tlokwe chief whip.

Close to more than 300 voting well-disciplined delegates packed the hall and the results were not contested by either factions.

According to sources close to Legoete, he had the support of NW provincial chairperson Supra Mahumapelo, the ANC Youth League’s provincial task team, the ANC’s women’s league, Dr Kenneth Kaunda region and Bojanala, which is the biggest region.

Keagakilwe had the support of the Ngaka Modiri Molema region.

“With the elections taking place next year we as the organization should work hard in making sure our Constituents and the public, particularly in NW cast their vote for this organization.

Ours is to work hard to win the elections and avoid uncalled for mudslinging’s,” says Legoete.

The secretary general post was vacated by Kabelo Mataboge who has been suspended by the party for three-years.

The secretary position is the highest within the provincial leadership and it is on a full time basis, therefore Legoete will have to resign as an ANC councillor within the local municipality.
