Downs, Chiefs under pressure as MTN8 semis hots-up

Speaking to the media ahead of a crucial second leg MTN8 semi-final, Mosimane explained that he has experienced pressure in almost every season since being the head coach of Sundowns, adding that it is usually phasing that the team goes through which sometimes results in his side going all the way to win a league title.

“At this level, (the) pressure is there, the kitchen; there is heat there. It is like me, we haven’t won our last four games, I am worried, I want the team to win but, I have been in this situation almost every year at Sundowns, there has never been a year that it is so good, never started like that, always we go through the same phases, I remember last year we went four games without winning and not scoring and it is my biggest concern, I think we won here at Pirates to break the drought, we came to Pirates and won and after that we won the league,” Mosimane said.

The Brazilians will welcome Cape Town City to the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday, September 02, as they look to book their spot in the final of the MTN8 competition.

In another humdinger, troubled Kaizer Chiefs face SuperSport in another MTN8 semis at FNB Stadium on Saturday evening.
