DStv Delicious fest set to show off Africa’s food and sought after musical stars

From 21 – 22 September 2019, the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in Johannesburg will be the place to be as Africa’s food and music lovers gather to experience the best in entertainment and culinary world featuring local and international celebrity chefs and music stars including Raphael Saadiq, Corinne Bailey Rae, Kalawa Jazmee Records artists and more.

DStv customers who enjoy the finest in foodie experiences will have an opportunity to immerse themselves in a fusion of pure African decadence at the festival’s bespoke pop-up restaurant, the DStv Foodie Lounge. The pop-up restaurant will bring all things gourmet in partnership with internationally acclaimed chef and restaurant owner who’s familiar to DStv viewers as My Kitchen Rules SA judge, David Higgs.

Alongside David, DStv will also bring the experience even closer to home through the David Higgs and Friends Masterclasses featuring food stylist and TV personality Zola Nene; chef and best-selling author Mogau Seshoene of The Lazy Makoti fame and Micasa’s J Something who’s not only an award-winning musician but also a chef.

To spice things up as host to each Masterclass experience will be reality TV star, choreographer and self-proclaimed chef, Somizi Mhlongo.

DStv customers who stay connected throughout September and already attending the festival, will have the opportunity to be invited into the DStv Foodies Lounge that has limited seats on offer for each day of the festival.

Additionally, during festival weekend, DStv will be giving the first 500 festival goers a DStv festival bag to enjoy the day’s festivities.

“The DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival brings “Everything Delicious” in one location and we look forward to bringing yet another epic experience with lots of great food and entertainment on offer,” says Thabisa Mkhwanazi, DStv Marketing Executive.

“Creating bespoke experiences like the David Higgs and Friends Masterclasses in the DStv Foodies Lounge is one of our efforts to reward and delight our loyal DStv customers. We encourage everyone to buy their festival tickets timeously and stay connected to their DStv to experience great moments on and off the screen.”

As Africa’s most-loved storyteller, DStv will ensure the event caters to the whole family with entertainment lined up for the little ones aged of 4-13 years with the ‘DStv School of Laughter’, located in the main Kids Fest. The Kids Fest will also include a variety of experiences (including a School Of Laughter goodie bag) and will give the attending kids a taste of the best content and activities that sparks children’s laughter and keeps them entertained and engaged all day long.
