EcoFlow energy solutions launched in mzansi to deal with loadshedding

NO matter how many interventions are in place, load shedding will be a part of our daily lives for at least the next two years.

Figuring out what you need to navigate in this electricity-scarce environment is challenging, but fortunately, EcoFlow, a corporation renowned for its sustainable energy solutions, is launching three new portable power stations to help you ease load shedding.

The EcoFlow DELTA 2RIVER 2, and RIVER 2 Max portable power stations will give you more flexibility during load shedding.

The pinnacle of what EcoFlow currently offers in South Africa, DELTA 2, is a robust and powerful energy solution that gives consumers the ability to do a lot more than keep the lights on during load shedding.

Equipped with high-capacity batteries, DELTA 2 packs a massive capacity of 1024Wh, perfect for power outages, outdoor adventures, and professional work. At home, it keeps your 150W fridge going for 7-10 hours, 110W television running for up to 8 hours, and your lights on for well over a day and a half.

Need to get some DIY work done? DELTA 2 powers a 1800W welding machine for more than 30 minutes and runs a 1080W drill for up to one hour. It even preps your electric vehicle for a quick trip. Moreover, you can easily extend the run time by plugging in an extra battery and expanding the capacity to 2-3kWh.

With four AC outlets (total output of 1800W, pure sine wave outlets), DELTA 2 lets you power up to 13 devices at once to meet your family’s power needs.

The EcoFlow DELTA 2RIVER 2, and RIVER 2 Max all come with LiFePO4 batteries, which have a lifespan of 3000 charges before reaching 80% capacity, allowing for roughly a decade of everyday use. With LFP cells, they are safe, durable, and highly efficient, even in warm temperatures.

All three new EcoFlow portable power stations use the innovative new X-Stream charging technology. It allows DELTA 2 to charge from zero to 80% in 50 minutes and to full in 80 minutes when plugged into a regular wall socket. For RIVER 2 and RIVER 2 Max, it only takes one hour to recharge fully. If you are nowhere near a wall socket, EcoFlow products can be recharged by a 12V/24V car adapter. Pair with EcoFlow Solar Panels, DELTA 2 and RIVER 2 can be fully charged in as fast as in three hours. Compare this with large, clunky inverters, the EcoFlow power stations offer a much more ideal charging speed, which comes in handy during load shedding.

One of the few silver linings of the pandemic is that it opened many companies up to the idea of working from home. Those who can avoid long commutes are reluctant to go back to the pre-pandemic arrangement. Unfortunately, load shedding threatens to force people back into the office full-time as employees struggle to power their Wi-Fi and devices at home offices. With RIVER 2 and RIVER 2 Max, you can easily power essential household appliances and the most used smart devices for hours.

For example, a RIVER 2 can support around 19 times of full charge for an iPhone while a RIVER 2 Max doubles the number. What’s more, RIVER 2 weighs 3.5kg and its more powerful sibling the RIVER 2 Max is only slightly heavier at 6.1kg, making them both easy to carry should you decide to travel between offices.

Load shedding may stay but the lack of power doesn’t have to. The launch of the EcoFlow DELTA 2 and RIVER 2 Series portable power stations means that there are now more ways to combat rolling blackouts than ever before.

Joy Wu, Head of LAMEA & APAC at EcoFlow says, “By providing safe, convenient, and reliable energy solutions, we hope to ease the frustration that many South Africans feel and help usher them to a world where power is accessible anytime, anywhere.”

EcoFlow’s DELTA 2 and RIVER 2 Series ranges are available for purchase from authourised dealers across South Africa and directly from the official website.

The recommended retail price:

  • DELTA 2 – R24,999.00
  • RIVER 2 – R6,999.00
  • RIVER 2 MAX – R12,999.00
