‘Felix the Cat’ joins Ford Motor Company

In the form of Felix Sebata, he’s a fighting ferocious figure and please don’t question his body stature, it can be deceiving- as they say about the looks!

Felix has been appointed the Ford Motor Company Product Communications Specialist for South Africa.

His role will include leading all product-related communication functions, including media relations, says FMCSA in a media statement.

Sebata, who is a Chartered Public Relations Practitioner and a member of the Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa (PRISA), brings with him a wealth of experience garnered from almost 15 years in the public relations industry.

While most of his years were spent supporting clients in the public sector, his passion for motoring saw him take up a role as contributing motoring writer for an online news outlet, which ultimately led to his secondment to Ford within the Communications department.

Known to peers as “felix the cat” he previously worked for SANRAL, former National Police Commissioner General Riah Phiyega, PR agency Magna Carta and had a clientele such as Eskom and the Department of Health.

“We welcome Felix into his new role heading up Product Communications for Ford South Africa,” says Bhagaloo. “His dedication and enthusiasm for the brand has been evident throughout his time with Ford, and will be a great asset for this department.”

He takes over from Bhagaloo, who has been ascended to the General Manager Communications post.

The charismatic Sebata began in his new post from November 1 2019.
