Hail the Champs, Amakhosi!

Last night -albeit drew with SupeSport 1-all- at Peter Mokaba Stadium, Kaizer Chiefs needed only a draw to clinch the elusive 2012/2013 silverware.

According to God’s at Naturena the club’s chairman Kaizer ”Chincha” Guluva Motaung,  unconfirmed reports are that a cow is to be slaughtered to appease the ancestors!

Well, be that as it may, he deserves to conduct that ceremony. Oh, that tortoise issue?

It should be noted from the beginning of the season, Amakhosi acquiring of former Bafana coach Stuart Baxter and the signing of more defenders-though some were against that route- it should be said “Chincha” and his management took a gamble and it paid dividends.

Yes, the club became the casualty room rather than the opposite due to prone injuries to key players’ Morgan Gold, Mashamaite, Simphiwe Tshabalala, etc…

But the attitude of both Baxter and the man of the moment Theophilus Doctor”16” Khumalo, who had to carry the loft when head coach was suspended as a result of enormous pressure, should be given thumps-up.

Yes, we might not be privy to what happens behind the scenes between the latter, but what matters most is they brought what has been elusive to the team, fans, players’ and sponsors and that’s what counts most.

To the players’, we have it on good authority that Josta Dladla and other five or so players’ (liabilities) might be off-loaded to make way for more hungrier ones. Well, it would make tactical sense because next season Chiefs would have to go through what both Pirates and SuperSport (knocked-out of the competition) are experiencing in the Africa Champions League.

They’ve been there already and are familiar with the reception…

It’s hard out there, and the place is not for the faint hearted!

History has is that Amakhosi, were suspended to partake in this competition due to budgetary constraints and other misdemeanours associated travelling to other African states. Ask Pirates

Any more reshuffling at the Naturena side is welcome as long as it does not impact on their performance or desire to Rise against all odds!

Yes, Jessica Motaung did hit the right cord when she said “Reclaiming our Glory”.

Rise Khosi Rise, the Boys have Risen!

*This weekend Chiefs’ wraps up the season stylishly against Tuks at Mbombela Stadium, Nelspruit were they will be presented with the silverware, before meeting up with SuperSport in the Nedbank Cup finale in Durban next Saturday at Moses Mabhinda Stadium at 3pm.
