“Hotstix” for nothing. Sipho Mabuse showed he’s not only hotstix when performing but can as well teach thugs a thing or two.

The singer and drummer apparently confessed to holding the two hostage at his house and beating them for up to six hours, allegedly with a hammer and a gun, for stealing a battery at his Soweto home.

Police spokesman Kay Makhubele confirmed that a case of assault with grievous bodily harm had been opened against Mabuse at Kliptown police station.

Mabuse was reportedly granted R2 000 bail in the Protea Magistrates Court after handing himself over to police on Tuesday

His case was postponed to August 28.

According to the Daily Sun, the 17-year-old and 25-year-old do not deny stealing the battery.

While they were looking for a buyer, Hotstix and three others arrived in a VW Polo and the teenager said he was thrown into the boot and taken to the musician’s house.

The 25-year-old ran away, but was later caught.

The 17-year-old claims the musician beat him “with a hammer in the chest while his neighbour was hitting me on the head with a gun”.
