Huawei Nova Y9a launched in SA, what a party it turned out to be!

It follows on several impressive Nova smartphones, including the nova Y60, nova 8, nova 8i and nova 9 launched last year.

The all brand new Y9a boast a 64MP quad-camera setup, a 6.63-inch FullView Display, 40W HUAWEI SuperCharge and 8GB + 128GB of storage.

Huawei has thrown down the gauntlet to its competitors as Nova Y9a features a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera, a 2MP depth camera and a 2MP macro camera.

These four cameras work together to create professional looking photographs with a 34% higher resolution and excellent colour reproduction capabilities. Photos taken on your HUAWEI nova Y9a can be printed as large as 3.2m x 2.4m, without losing the quality, says Huawei’s SA General Manager Justin Sun, during his presentation.

The launch was held at the rooftop Radisson Hotel Blue, Sandton and all invited guests immersed also on the state of the art laptops, home entertainment system and fiddled with the Nova Y9a, as the lovely evening weather permitted.

More importantly, the new device has industry-leading 40W HUAWEI SuperCharge technology, which allows you to charge your device to nearly 70% in just 30 minutes, as it consist of a large 4200mAh battery that supports 44 hours of voice call, 117 hours of music playback, 12 hours of internet browsing, 10 hours of video watching or 9 hours of continuous gaming.

It also has an additional 128GB of storage meaning you can save as often as you want. But the memory card 256GB is not included meaning, one has to purchase it separately.

With Super Night Mode and a complex set of built-in noise-reduction algorithms, the HUAWEI nova Y9a automatically brightens skin tones, clarifies dark backgrounds and enhances colours.

Whether you’re holding your camera by hand and especially if you’re able to use a tripod, the HUAWEI nova Y9a guarantees beautiful dynamic night-time photographs.

You’ll be sure to enjoy your exquisite pictures and videos on the HUAWEI nova Y9a’s immersive display. Its pop-up selfie camera (a real novelty and regarded as one of the best designs of a front camera to date) means that the notch area is reduced.

The 6.63-inch display also supports 1.67 million colours, a contrast ratio of up to 1500:1 and 85% of the RBG colour gamut. All of this comes together to deliver true-to-life colours and vivid details on a vast and expansive display.

It is designed for quick charging speed and long battery life. With 40 W HUAWEI SuperCharge, you can charge up its battery efficiently, restoring nearly 70% power in 30 minutes 3. And its 4,200 mAh large battery and AI power saving technology allow you to enjoy your journey without frequent recharging, says Kennedy Jubane- Product Marketing Manager at Huawei SA, who also emphasised the target market is youth.
