iNumberNumber shows international class act!

Chili, played by Mtshali, winner of Class Act in 2010, and Shoes, played by Chweneyagae of Tsotsi and State of Violence fame, have been partners in the police force for eight years.

Cops are put to the end to test their will to work for the force and temptation is the order of the day. And what about corruption?

After they make a risky arrest, their corrupt superior refuses to give them the reward they are due. Enraged, Chili realises that honesty does not pay and sets about infiltrating a gang of armoured-car thieves.

His scheme goes awry when the gang discover his true identity. They take Shoes hostage and go through with the heist. Lured by the potential loot, but finding himself in the midst of a killing spree, Chili has to shake off his rage and cynicism to do the right thing.

The 99-minutes film boasts an oddball cast that brings comic relief to the ruthless thuggery.

It is written and directed by Donovan Marsh.

It had its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September last year  and was well received.

And yes, what would the movie be without my all time favourites Owen Sejake (Mambane) and Israel Makoe (Skroef)?

The movie’s title name inumber-number in Soweto lingua means to ‘strike a deal’ or ‘once-off score’.

In a nutshell, the movie shows the cops can be trusted despite the odds stacked against them!

It also features Warren Masemola as G8, Hlubi Mboya as Gugu, Percy Matsemela as Slim and Carlo Radebe as Kenny Dex.

See iNumberNumber and get blown away by the quality and of course, tsotsi-taal which makes it the complete package. Amen!

It hits cinemas countrywide from today!

Meanwhile, the movie also got the support from the international group Mi-Casa that was part of the premiere last night.

“We support the fight against piracy which is killling our music. As a group and concerned members of public we shall fight elements or forces which denies us the right to produce good, quality music and pull us down,” said the group in unison.
