HAVING left in ungodly hours on Saturday morning heading to catch a flight- is no child’s play.
Worsened by winter season, coughs, and influenza are synonymous at this time of the year.
But off we jetted to one of the sought-after get away spots in SA- the Zimbali Estate (KwaZulu-Natal) for the face-lift launch of Jetour Dashing and X70 Plus, respectively.
The facelift launch was preceded by scenic drive along the Ballito, Whalebone Pier, Umhlanga, Plato Umhlali and finally Manor House venue for the Jetour KZN Festival, now entering its second edition.
And who better to entertain revelers than the famous Dr Victor and the Rebels, who provided highly charged performance.
According to Becks Chen- VP Jetour SA, both models have received refreshed exterior styling, upgraded comfort features, advanced technology and even more comprehensive safety enhancements.
This was confirmed as we took the refreshed models along the above mentioned routes, they possess power especially on hair-pin turns and hills associated with KZN, though at times taxis and heavy trucks (due to constructions) made it impossible to fiddle with the car as they breathed heavily on our tails- prompting some of the journos’ to keep left most of the time.
Having tested previous models that came in a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine paired with a 6-speed DCT transmission, producing 115 kW and 230 Nm of torque, the newer SUVs are equipped with a responsive 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission that delivers 125kW and 270Nm of torque, respectively.
Dashing appeals to urban drivers looking for bold design, premium finishes and contemporary styling, while the seven-seater X70Plus offers families the ideal combination of space, practicality, advanced technology and comfort for everyday adventures; whereas X70 Plus thanks to its distinctive styling, boast premium technology and impressive safety features that fueled interest and sales growth for the brand.
X70 Plus has been redesigned with front grille and exterior accents in brushed aluminum, to create a more luxurious look and feel, and with new 19-inch alloy wheels, heated and ventilated front seats (on the Prime version), dual-zone climate control and engine start/stop technologies.
It also benefits from the same advanced safety enhancements as the new Dashing.

Vice President of Jetour South Africa, Nic Campbell says: “These enhancements reflect our commitment to continually improving our products. The refreshed Dashing and X70Plus offer even greater style, comfort and technology, ensuring they remain compelling choices for both urban motorists and adventure-seeking families.”
“We welcome new customers into our dealerships to experience these exciting new models for themselves. To everyone joining the Jetour family, we wish you many happy kilometres and unforgettable adventures with Jetour”.
