The Born to Read programme is coordinated by provincial library services and is aimed at inculcating a culture of reading from an early age.
It also promotes reading by getting parents including pregnant women, to read to their children and unborn babies, as well as encouraging them to take an active role in instilling the culture of reading within households.
The workshop will provide parents, child-care-givers and hospitals with tools needed to cultivate a culture of reading, thus encouraging parents to read to their young children and make use of library services in their community.
The workshop will be held at the Eersterus Clinic in Tshwane on Tuesday November 25, 2014.
Other workshops will follow at other regions.
A reading nation is a prosperous one!
