Mini SUV S-Presso is fuel efficient, stru!

BUDGET friendly is how to describe the new Suzuki S-Presso.

I had a chance to test drive this mini-SUV, whom many call it budget-friendly and fuel efficient by South Africans, considering the high cost of living.

Agree, as I and my friend took it to Sun City and our ‘friends’ for a birthday fete, to such an extent they had to inquire if the gauge was working, considering we did not pop in at any fuel station using Magalies route.

It stands at 180 high ground clearance and measuring 3.67m bumper-to-bumper and 1.52m across, that was evident on hairpin turns that are synonymous with potholes and hills of Magalies. Thankfully, we travelled in the evening that meant less trucks and traffic.

It brings every adventure alive with excitement, as we anticipated. So, be it a city car, we prefer ‘jacks of all trades.

The styling features a faux grille with hexagonally shaped detailing and some interesting headlamp design, but the overall shape features a collection of quite simple stampings. S-Presso offers 14-inch wheels with stylish wheel covers.

The interior features a 7-inch colour infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality. As expected, the system is Bluetooth, AUX, and USB compatible.

I would not agree much with the space as some of our shoulders kept on bumping on one another, so is limited leg room, but we all agreed it has that much needed power.

Powering the S-Presso is a naturally-aspirated 1-litre engine, with three cylinders, which is good for 50 kW.

There is more to enjoy about this little SUV’s fuel economy, rear parking assist, smart play studio meter cluster and how safe this car is for you and your family.

It is available in five model variants and standard reverse camera, ABS, EBD, dual airbags for safety aspects.

This small car has strong character with bold lines and prominent exterior features, hence its marketing tag line ‘DO YOU with the Suzuki S-Presso’.

The Suzuki S-Presso comes standard with a 2 year / 30 000 km Service Plan and a 5 year / 200 000 km Promotional Warranty.

For the best Suzuki experience, your Suzuki S-Presso must be serviced once every twelve months or every 15 000 km, whichever comes first.

It retails for R156 900
