However, shoppers have a good reason to feel safe at malls throughout Gauteng during the festive season.
This is because well-trained students from the SAPS Academy, and thousands of metro police and SAPS officers will be stationed in shopping malls.
Recently, more than 5000 qualified cops have been integrated in the police set-up.
Gauteng police commissioner Lieutenant-General Deliwe de Lange also indicated they’ve deployed more cops to targeted Malls, without giving much details.
