MTNBushfire organisers issue advisory note to public ahead of elections

WITH national elections for 2024 in May 29, now proclaimed, MTN Bush Fire has also issued advisory note to the public.

This follows the challenges many South African artists, partners and service providers, to the Bushfire may face as a build up to the elections.

According to Jiggs Thorne, festival director, are engaging the RSA mission in Eswatini to understand the options.

“South African artists, partners and service providers who will be in Eswatini on Election Day are therefore advised to apply for a Special (early) Vote on Tuesday 28 May, 2024, so they may vote in their home voting district before traveling to the festival,” read a media statement from Thorne.

It is important to plan early, so that relevant Bushfire Department heads will be in touch to discuss your preferred voting option, such as a registered SA voter can vote:

1. On Election Day, 29 May, in their voting district in South Africa, if registered to vote in SA.

or

2. On 27 and 28 May in South Africa if registered for special (or early) vote. A voter needs to apply for a special vote online at www.elections.org.za

The application period will be from 15 April to 3 May 2024.

“If for any reason it is not possible to make these dates, the only other option would be to apply to vote at the SA mission in Mbabane, Eswatini, on 18 May ONLY.

This would require voters to submit an online VEC 10 special vote application by 23:59pm, 22 April 2024,” says the media release.
