“Nix mapha” latest KFC campaign has mzansi on stitches

KFC has officially unveiled its Mighty Bucket for One No Sharing.

The Mighty Bucket for One costs R79.90 and includes two pieces of Original Recipe chicken, two wings, two strips, chips and a drink.

Every Mighty Bucket for One comes with a tongue-in-cheek No Sharing Contract, giving consumers a playful backing against the “just one piece” people.

KFC held at a tongue-in-cheek press conference tackling one of South Africa’s most familiar food frustrations: unwanted food sharing, to launch PR One campaign flipping the brand’s long-standing bucket-sharing tradition with a meal designed for one person’s complete, uninterrupted enjoyment.

‘Nix mapha’- is mzansi slang used to declare “no” to sharing before anyone even asks. It’s a firm but playful boundary-setting term.

The campaign embraces this as a philosophy and gives customers the backing to say it with confidence.

Well known faces were used to drive the message such as the Mselekus’ and Desmond Dube.

“This campaign speaks to something real,” says Hloni Mohope, Chief Marketing Officer at KFC Africa.

“We all know someone who can’t help themselves when a bucket appears.  The Mighty Bucket for One is our way of giving South Africans permission to protect their meal.

To say ‘nix mapha’ with confidence. To keep something to themselves.”

The No Sharing Contract is that permission, wrapped in mock-legal language and delivered with a smile.

The contract identifies the primary offenders:

* The “I’m not hungry” people who appear the moment the bucket opens.
* The “just a smallanyana piece” investigators.
* The “lemme just taste” operatives.
* The emotional manipulators who somehow trigger guilt with a single look.
* The unauthorised drumstick debone artists.
* The last-wing chancers who strike without warning.

The Mighty Bucket for One No Sharing- is available countrywide.
