Nominated in 8 categories for the upcoming MetroFM awards in Durban on February 27, Nathi has been presented with a cheque of R150 000 and a vehicle, after his national anthem ‘Nomvula’ being voted as the SABC Summer Song of the Year in 2015.
Listeners had to choose their song from a list of 10 songs submitted from the SABC radio stations play listed songs for a voters roll.
To be the winning song, a hit had to have at least dominated 5 SABC radio stations and receive the most number of votes from all 19 SABC radio stations’ votes combined.
Since the public was invited to parttake voter/listener from Siyabuswa-KwaNdebele Mpumalanga, the 56 year old Jabulane Thomas Mabena also won a car courtesy of Kia.
