SA iconic brand Mageu No1 appoints well-mannered Thusi as ambassador!

This was confirmed yesterday by the head-honchos at the Mageu Number No 1, during an exclusive interview.

The agreement, according to Amanda Dlamini, Brand Manager- Foodcorp Beverage Division – follows the imminent launch of the Smooth 1 Litre of which Thusi, and the company have agreed would be in the form of winning one ultimate fashion prize for the MTN SAMAs.

The iconic Mageu Number No1 brand, who are the first-time corporate sponsor’s for the Best Traditional Category, since the launch of the awards, has set the precedent by also paying a whooping R25 000 to the category winner, who will in turn contribute the funds to his/her community projects of choice.

The Mageu Number No1 Smooth Tour activation will take place on campuses around Gauteng and Limpopo provinces (TUT, UJ, VUT, Turfloop and Univen), respectively.

According to Dlamini, at this stage, the decision was to focus tours on these two provinces as a trial run, due to time constraints and other pressing matters as a result of the awards in May.

On why they opted for Thusi, Dlamini in her words said:” She’s smart, modern, down-to-earth and an interpretation of what our brand stands for.”

“Mageu Number No1 being an iconic brand it is, also boasts a rich history and champions Ubuntu hence today it is still the most consumed and followed brand in the country,” says the petite Dlamini.

“Our involvement in the SAMAs, will further propel our brand to greater heights and yes, sponsoring the Best Traditional Category signifies the heritage Mageu Number No1 is synonymous with for the past 44 donkey years,” she waxed lyrically.

At an unconfirmed share market of more than 69%, Mageu Number No1 continues to break grounds and compete fiercely within the FMCG sector.

During the tour, Thusi will be joined by ex-Yfm co-presenter and flamboyant “Boogie” and Yfm’s morning show host Mo-Flava.

Attempt to solicit comment from Thusi proved futile since her mobile was off at the time of publishing.

MTN/SAMA ceremonies take place in May from 10 to 11 at Sun City, Rustenburg.
