SA running short of blood- Sowetans are encouraged to lead the way

Most South Africans will need a blood transfusion at some point in their lives.

Alarmingly, less than 1% of South Africans regularly donate blood. One person donating blood can save a minimum of three lives.

Despite SA’s youth forming almost 50% of the population, the organization is critically low on donors.

Silungile Mlambo, spokesperson for The South African National Blood Service and other executives will be in attendance to provide the easy way on the importance of blood donation, amongst others.

As such, it will conduct a drive to increase donations at University of Johannesburg- Soweto Campus this Friday October 19. For free and painless.

It begins from 11:00-16:00- UJ Soweto Campus Klipspruit.

Folks, SA is running short of blood let’s play our part…
