Sowetans' heed the call: Wozani as the 33rd Miss Soweto wraps the year in glitz, lights and cameras!

Presented by White Star Maize Meal, the 33rd beauty pageant which is respected for having carved the likes of businesswomen Basetsana Makgalemele and Augustine Masilela, to mention the two, is set once again to raise the bar!

The top 20 finalists will compete for the prestigious title of Miss Soweto 2012; joining a long line of exceptional queens who have represented the values that have defined and empowered a new generation of women.

The Dobsonville born and Barchelor of Commerce student at UJ, Monggae has been hard at work juggling between studies and community projects in and around Soweto.  

“White Star believes in producing star quality and the pageant is a chance for the contestants to show how they embody this excellence everyday,” says White Star Marketing Manager, Mokhele Makhothi.

Although, at the time of posting the prizes were not divulged but one can attest it’s going to be exciting and pulsating evening!

“The star quality that the Miss Soweto Pageant produces can be seen in the great success achieved by the past title holders. 

Lebogang Monggae has become the Ambassador for Gauteng Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation and was a finalist in the Miss South Africa Pageant while previous queens have gone on to become entrepreneurs and high-profile personalities,” explains Makhothi.

Stand-up comedian Kedibone Mulaudzi will be the MC for the evening. Brace yourself for stitchy moments, you’re warned!

It starts at 6:30pm.

Tickets available at the door for R200 which includes the after-party, featuring local djs, etc…
