Sun City turns 40 and its gonna be a razzmatazz!

It’s almost time to get down and jika with Mi Casa at what promises to be the biggest music event of 2019.

The eccentric trio joins some of the biggest names in South African music for Sun City’s Big 40 Birthday Party on 7 December 2019.

Creating unmatched energy on stage and a sound different to any other South African band, Mi Casa is ready to thrill revelers with songs like “Jika”, “Heavenly sent”, “These streets”, “Turn you on”, “TOCA” and countless other groovy hits. 

This band, comprising Dr Duda (producer, pianist and consummate beat-maker), J’Something (vocalist and guitarist) and Mo T (trumpeter and jazz influence), has dominated charts in South Africa since 2010 with a total of eight number one singles which included their smash hits “Jika” and “Don’t wanna be your friend”, both of which went multi-platinum and were the most played songs on national and continental radio platforms.

They have hosted countless sold out shows in 31 African countries as well as in Portugal, the UK, the Netherlands, Italy, and Canada.

What makes this band unique, besides the music, is their persona and values that are deeply rooted in making music which carries positive vibes and uplifting energy. 2020 sees Mi Casa turn 10 years-old and will be a massive year for the band but, before their celebrations begin, they brace Sun City and its guests with some excellent celebratory vibes first.

Also on the bill for The Big 40 Birthday Party at the Valley of Waves are Sho Madjozi, Shekhinah, Dr Victor & The Rasta Rebels and Kurt Darren. A lively production showcasing the resort’s history, culminating with a dazzling fireworks display is also on the cards.

Local band, Soulmajestik, and Sun City’s very own Segaetsho Dynasty will share the stage with these top South African artists. 

Performing at The Big 40 After Party at the Sun Arena are Kwesta, Goodluck, Prince Kaybee, DJ Christos, Vinny da Vinci and DJ Tira, with Somizi in the driver’s seat as MC.

Tickets to the Big 40th Birthday Party at the Valley of Waves are sold out. However, guests booking accommodation at Sun City over the birthday weekend (6 to 8 December) will receive two tickets to the party as part of the package.
