The Glenmorangie Experience with Zakes Bantwini- a perfect match

TALK IS he might drop the mic soon but…

Grammy award nominee, multi award winner and businessman Zakes Bantwini has partnered with one of the world’s top selling whisky Glenmorangie for The Glenmorangie Experience.

The first leg of the experience has been scheduled at the hip and happening Propaganda, Pretoria on November 19.

The sought-after star will be joined on stage during the night by an array of guests, including Mama singer Maline Aura, Samthing Soweto, aka Samkelo Mdolomba, Amapiano stars DJ Njelic and Snow Deep, and the legendary Mdu Masilela.

“For someone like myself, who’s all about legacy and building a sustainable career, working with a brand like Glenmorangie means everything. It’s a brand that’s looking at colour, culture, fashion, art and legacy – and that’s exactly what I stand for, orange also being one of my favourite colours!

I love working with Glenmorangie because we’re building colourful memories, and building a foundation for a legacy for future generations,” he was quoted.

The musician who is set to retire from producing music for himself says he is currently cooking up a storm in the studio as he is working on his final body of work. “I am still working on my last album,” he assures his fans.

Zakes adds that he is not retiring from the music scene, but he will stop producing music under his name “I will probably still be producing and writing music for other artists, but I am still working on my last offering as Zakes Bantwini,” he adds.

The Osama Hitmaker says his last album is titled Abantu, and it will be one of the books because it came at the right time when he is still at the peak of his career.

Born Zakhele Madida- Zakes has announced that he will be venturing into other business ventures during his retirement “I am looking forward to focusing on my business both in Cape Town and Durban. I have other business interests taking a toll on me and I will be spending more time with my family,” he explains.

The musician says his last offering will be released on the 24th of March 2023 and he is working on features that mean a lot to him.

“We’re delighted to be bringing The Glenmorangie Experience to South Africans at a wonderful time of year; these experiences will be the perfect way to celebrate in the company of great friends and great whisky.

Patrons can look forward to a splash of playfulness mixed with a whole lot of deliciousness, not only in our drinks, but with the incomparable Zakes Bantwini taking centre stage,” says David White, Regional Marketing Director for Glenmorangie in Africa.

Each venue will be transformed into a scintillating “orangie” wonderland, with Bantwini’s high-octane amapiano and house grooves combining with his electrifying stage performance to make each encounter a night to remember.

His bespoke “orangie” piano promises to be a showstopper in its own right!

Next stop is Khayalitsha, Cape Town at the popular Rands, on Saturday 10 December.

He has been in the industry for more than 15 years, and has undoubtedly had the best year as he continues to receive the recognition he deserves.

Nominations for the 65th instalment of the Grammy Awards were announced with Zakes scoring a nod alongside internationally recognized vocalists Nomcebo Zikode, and Wouter Kellerman.

Tickets for Propanganda are available through Computicket (link). Doors open at 4pm.
